Archer Farrar FAQ's

FAQs

WHAT IS NATURAL PERFUMERY?

Natural perfumery means that each ingredient is derived from a natural source. This is a rare practice in the fragrance industry due to high cost and lack of availability or rarity of ingredients. Most commercial, widely available fragrances are created using some or all synthetic ingredients – laboratory manufactured molecules that mimic smells that we know.
For more information please see this article.

HOW LONG DO NATURAL PERFUMES STAY ON YOUR SKIN?

It depends on the fragrance, lighter citrus dominant colognes will need to be refreshed regularly while heavier, woody or muskier scents will last longer. Natural fragrances generally do not stay on your skin or clothing for as long as synthetic fragrances. As a general rule I say natural fragrances need to be reapplied every two hours.

ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN?

Yes. No animal by-products are used in the production of our perfumes. Butter absolute is occasionally used but only upon your approval.

DO NATURAL FRAGRANCES CHANGE OVER TIME?

Yes. Natural fragrances will keep changing subtly for the first six to eight weeks before becoming the final stable scent that meets your brief. At Archer Farrar we mature your perfume before appointments; we use simple techniques to fast track the maturation process and age the fragrance within two weeks rather than six.

WHAT IS THE EXPIRY DATE ON NATURAL FRAGRANCES?

Again this depends on the fragrance but we suggest using your fragrance within six months of purchase; buy something you love, wear it regularly and this should not be an issue at all!
